We recently had a day that wasn't horrible. It was sunny and almost 45 degrees. We played outside for a while soaking up the sun. Grace actually got her beach towel and laid on the driveway (take that Florida!).
Grace and I made a snowman, Matt vacummed the car and Jake just walked around licking a big snowball. There were no other people in sight. We think it is strange that nobody is EVER outside, especially on a rare sunny day, but they probably think it's strange we are lying around in our driveway.

Seasonal Affective Disorder
I'm pretty sure Matt and I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (aka winter blues). It's grey and very cold and everybody stays inside and its depressing! We are trying to get out when we can. Last weekend we headed out to try a nearby trail only to find the road to the trail was closed. It was a nice day for Cleveland (40 and a little sunny) so we parked nearby and went for a walk down the snow covered road. We picked up sticks, looked at a stream and found some animal tracks. The kids didn't whine for about 10 minutes and then we started hearing "I'm hungry." We managed to hold them off for another 20 minutes and then headed back home for lunch. It wasn't much, but at least it was something.

Girl Scouts
Grace is enjoying Girl Scouts. Recently we went ice skating with the troop and to World Friendship Day (where they did a huge friendship circle).

It's Still Snowing!
It's been snowy, cold and grey! The snow can be beautiful and fun, but it's starting to get old. Going outside to play is a lot of work (snow pants, jackets, gloves, boots, hats). I guess that's why most people don't bother. We rarely see our neighbors or any other kids playing outside. Grace and Jake don't mind so much, they like to play while Daddy shovels the driveway. I like to go outside and see the snow, but I don't last very long in 20 degree weather.
We did go to a nearby trail and go for a very short and cold 1/4 mile walk through the woods to see some pretty cool icicles. After that we all got treats at Starbucks!
