Saturday night Grace and Matt went to the Girl Scouts annual Daddy Daughter Dance. They went with a friend and his daughter while Jake and I hung out with the other mom and 3 year old boy. Jake was sad he couldn't go to the party so I told him JJ was coming to play with him and we could have our own "truck party." We filled the living room with trucks for him and JJ to play with. That made him feel better.
Grace was a little shy at the dance, but had a good time. Matt was proud to have won the hula hoop contest.

Train Ride
We didn't have any plans for MLK weekend, but we wanted to do something, so we decided to take a short train ride through the Cuyahoga National Park, about 40 minutes away. It was a 45 minute ride to a small town, where we got off for about 40 minutes and 45 minutes back. The kids thought it was pretty cool. The even stayed off their Ipods and looked out the window and ate snacks from the snack car for the ride there, but watched cartoons on the way back (oh well).

Road Rage
We had a 14 hour drive home after Christmas. We spent one night on the road. Mostly it went well, but there were a few low points. This video shows the worst of it. Jake would not stop singing Old MacDonald as loud as he could and Grace was trying to watch a cartoon and couldn't hear it. She got mad. Check it out:

Snow!!!!
The kids are doing great. They've been having so much fun Grace hasn't had a chance to miss school, but luckily the first week back is only two days long. The kids are best buddies and play together all the time. Jake now requests that Grace put him down for a nap or at bedtime. Matt and I don't argue. She actually does really good.
It has been COLD (below 20 degrees) and grey. I'm not sure if the foot of snow is ever going to leave. We have a trip to florida planned in March, but I'm not sure if that is soon enough. The kids love the snow, the cold never seems to bother them. We went sledding last weekend for the first time. There is a really big hilly area behind a small hospital just outside the neighborhood. The kids loved it. Here are some pictures of our adventures in the snow.
